Responsibilities of the Assembly Technician:
- Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assemble components while examining interface locations for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Utilize handheld power tools such as screw gun and drill press
- Verify specifications by measuring the completed component.
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms
Background Profile of the Assembly Technician:
- AS, BS Degree or 2 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive field preferred
- Manufacturing quality experience and use of mechanical inspection tools,
- Positive safety management and quality focus
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Quality Inspection
- Soldering - IPC-610 a plus
- Comfortable standing for 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Electrical; troubleshooting skills
- Experience with the use of benchtop and power tools
- Self-directed ability to make Judgment calls and decision making
- Continuous improvement approach
- Computer skills; Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
