JOB MISSION/SUMMARY The Slitter Operator is responsible for producing quality thermal transfer ribbons according to specifications in accordance with the production plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Slitting of Thermal Transfer Ribbons
- Reads production specification and bill of materials. Ensures understanding of these documents and asks questions if clarification is needed.
- Performs machine set-ups for each job to include:
Using durometers to measure hardness of jumbos
Threading film in the machine
Setting blades to proper width
Programming the machine for length, speed and tension
Setting up leader table for proper tapes, leaders and trailer
Retrieves the proper cores from inventory.
Performs first runs and verifies quality
Completes run-to–run changeovers by removing completed rolls, preparing shafts with cores for the next run and completing paperwork.
- Uses calipers and durometers to perform quality checks.
- Completes quality sheets and work order forms.
- Safely operates walk behind material handling equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
