Leads team(s) that installs, maintains, and performance monitors Database Management Systems in support of the financial services, investments, investments and/or corporate divisions. Liaises with IT Development, IT Architecture, IT Operations, and business leadership to provide efficient application and product stability and availability. What you will do: Leads team(s) in the installation, maintenance, 24x7 support, and performance monitoring of highly complex Database Management Systems (DBMS). Performs/assigns resources that perform/schedule release of database builds in various production and non-production environments. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, and AWS database offerings. Provides the highest level of consultative subject matter expertise in the design, creation, implementation, and maintenance of applications affecting enterprise databases. Recommends application design changes and modifications to most effective leverage the use of enterprise databases. Works with systems and business leadership to develop database strategies to support company needs. Assigns individual staff to projects of varying scope. Ensures projects are completed on time and within predefined requirements and budgets. Accountable for team performance within assigned projects. Supervises staff that perform information security and audit activities under the guidance of the Internal Audit and related compliance departments. Recommends appropriate actions to mitigate information security risks. Ensures accurate and appropriate use of data. Works directly with applications development management to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage. Responsible for scheduling/performance of on-call DBMS support rotations. Serves as the highest-level internal resource in resolving the most complex database issues. Trains lower-level staff to resolve issues more effectively. Ensures that subordinates perform work as prescribed by policies and procedures in order to achieve productivity, service, quality standards quotas and goals. Assigns work and resources to subordinates to achieve productivity, service, and quality standards. Administers and executes policies and procedures typically affecting subordinates. Has limited authority to make exceptions to policy and procedures. Makes recommendations on pay, performance, appraisals, work schedules, discipline and hiring. Assists with department budgeting activities. What you will bring: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience. Master's degree in related systems or business field is strongly desired. What will set you apart: Minimum eight (8) years relevant database administration experience including at least two (2) years’ experience leading projects while being accountable for team performance and/or directly managing people. The salary range below describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
