This is a non-union positionEnbridge is looking for a Sr. Technical Advisor with experience in providing broad and deep technical expertise to directly coordinate the work of a small team or specialized assistance to a specific issue. In this role, you will work independently on complex technical issues while making significant design or standard practice deviations based on depth and breadth of knowledge. You will also be expected to demonstrate broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, identifying opportunities and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders.

Here's what you will do:
Provide technical assistance to field employees, region staff, internal and external customers as a member of the North Central Region Technical Staff.
Interact with the Houston Technical Staff and the other Regional Technical Advisors to assure that Company SOPs, EQP's, and Maintenance Standards are current and consistently applied to all equipment in the North Central Region.
Provide technical support for all reciprocating, turbine and electric drivers and their associated compressors and generators.
Provide training and technical guidance for Area Mechanics, Station Operators, and E/C Techs with respect to the Company's Employee Qualification Program, as well as the Operator Qualification training, evaluation, and Region approval sign-off.
Assist in the development of region policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure that these and other company procedures, as well as local, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and laws are met within region.
Lead efforts for cost estimating, budgeting, and obtaining clear scope definitions to obtain accurate cost estimates and project definitions.
Oversee scheduling, cost control and forecasting for the assigned projects and reporting these to the Region Compression Supervisor.
Lead Technical Staff representative for design reviews with the Projects Organization and external customers for review and approval of design criteria and construction drawing packages.
Formulate material bid specifications and requisitions; evaluate bids and make material selections.
Work with the Procurement group to order materials for on-time delivery to the job site.
Who you are:
You have:
A related university degree and six-plus years' experience OR eight-plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3 years of related experience is required.
Knowledge of Engine Analysis and Vibration Analysis programs and ensure that they are consistently and effectively applied across all compressor station equipment.
Knowledge of all company standards, operation of equipment, and hazardous location classification with regards to natural gas pipeline facilities.
Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, SAP, and Mechanical specific programs.
Demonstrated broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, identifying opportunities, and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders.

The following are considered assets:
10-plus years' experience in the Mechanical field.
Natural Gas Transmission experience.
Ability to direct and coordinate the work of others.
Ability to train others plus evaluate and recommend training for others in the mechanical field.
Possess advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledgeable on new technology.
Possess knowledge and experience with mechanical related equipment.
Working Conditions:
Perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.
Possibility of working overtime, being on call, and traveling overnight.
Overnight Travel up to 50%.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
