What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quartermaster position at Enchant Christmas?
The Quartermaster role is critical in ensuring the success of our events. Reporting to the Construction Lead, the Quartermaster will be responsible for maintaining an efficient control process over our tools and equipment during the setup, show run and strike of the event, following and communicating protocols to ensure our tools, hardware and equipment are properly prepared and accounted for, working closely with our leads ensuring their tool, hardware and equipment requirements are coordinated and available as per the installation schedule, monitoring inventory levels and initiate restock as needed, managing heavy equipment logs, charging, refueling and assignment.
COMPENSATION:
$22.95 - $27.00 per hour
COMMITMENT: Dates may change based on location
- Install: Nov 01-26, 2022 (10-12 hrs per days / 7am - 7pm / 6 days per week)
- Show: Nov 26-Jan 1, 2023, (8-10 hrs per days / 3pm - midnight / 5 days per week)
- Strike: Jan 02-15, 2023 (10-12 hr days / 7am - 7pm / 6 days per week)
May include some travel for training purposes
- Must commit to the entire production run from the pre-event to the load-out
- Must be prepared to work each day of the Load-in, Install, Run-of-Show, Strike and Load-out
- This includes the holiday season: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas day, New Years Eve and New Years Day
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

WHO WE ARE:
We are creators of a magical holiday event called Enchant Christmas featuring the world's largest light maze and village market. We have hosted over three million guests over the past 5 years and have experienced significant growth. In 2022, we will be producing 9 shows in 8 U.S. cities.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Work with the Technical Site Manager, Warehouse Manager, as well as venue partners to coordinate the flow of tools and supplies from the tool crib to and from the construction site
- Acquire and distribute the necessary tools and equipment for the team
- Ensure all equipment and tools are functional and accessible when needed
- Work with the install team to coordinate and deliver items from the storage yard and tool crib for the purpose of event set up, run of show, and take down
- Ensure that forecasts are made, and tool and hardware needs are prepped to prevent the need for items that are not in stock
- Maintain a detailed inventory record of the tools and hardware in the tool crib
- Manage a sign in/out system for tool and equipment assignments
- Provide instruction to personnel on using equipment and supplies as needed
- Work with existing team members to ensure the venue is prepped and ready for install/strike
- Provide daily updates on any concerns for the day
- Examine inventory for damages or missing items
- Ensure the team is practicing safe workplace procedures as outlined by the Enchant Safety & Health Guidelines
- Record and report any damage to person or property during the operation
- All Team members will hold multifaceted roles where in conjunction with their main responsibilities they will assist the Construction Lead and fellow team members with the following tasks as outlined but not limited to:
- Assisting other teams and disciplines as needed
- Unloading / loading shipments
- Receiving deliveries
- Prepping shipments for outbound transport
- Distributing assets within the exhibit grounds
- General setup and take down
- Exhibit builds and construction
- Exhibit maintenance and repairs
- General site tidiness
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

- The Quartermaster will have experience managing tools and hardware resources in Event/Entertainment and/or Festival industry
- Familiarity with function of tools and equipment
- Site management experience
- Proven coordination experience
- Proven ability to manage inventory and follow processes
- Highly detailed and organized
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Basic computer literacy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move objects 40 lbs.
- Occasionally ascends/descends up to 6ft.
- Must be able to frequently walk and stand.
- Occasionally sitting.
- Occasionally doing repetitive motions.
- Occasionally operates machinery and/or power tools.
- Occasionally operates a motor vehicle.
- Occasionally operates heavy equipment.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 10 certification required.
