Be the Infection Preventionist you always wanted to be
- Direct the managerial functions of our Infection Control Program
- Assure compliance with CMS, TJC, CDC, OSHA, and other federal and state standards and guidelines.
- Analyze hospital infection data to identify trends, clusters, risk factors and variances.
- Manage hospital policies consistent with applicable infection control guidelines and standards.
- Perform surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections.
- Educate staff on infection control protocols.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and available resource on infection control practices and policies.
- Develop and maintain infection control standards meeting regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- License or Certification :
- Current license or certification as a medical technologist, clinical laboratory scientist, physician, or registered nurse.
- Education and Experience :
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare field.
- 1 year experience in a clinical setting in field of practice.
- Preferred : CIC Certification.
- Training in infection control and / or epidemiology.
- Preferred : experience in hospital infection control practice.
- Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field including but not limited to medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology.
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, or nights as needed.
