Encore Technologies is seeking a Network Team Lead to work for a client in Louisville, KY. This role will be worked 100% on-site.
This is a role with both supervisory/leadership responsibilities as well as individual contributor, technical engineering responsibilities. Network Engineers are responsible for design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting of the enterprise network infrastructure. They will also support the network needs of the company’s production Data Centers and support the 24x7 nature of the business through a rotation-based on-call assignment. This position will be required to be customer facing and able to troubleshoot various issues with customers and vendors. The Network Team Lead will manage processes, technologies, and staff assigned to their functional area: casinos and business development. Prioritizing work at the task level is a critical function of this role. This is a full time in office position. Some travel is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure the successful and continued operation of the company’s network infrastructure.
- Supervise, mentor, and prioritize the work of the Network Engineers assigned to their functional area.
- Lead daily stand up meetings and regular project conferences.
- Interface and partner with other IT teams, cross-functional teams, IT leaders, and business leaders to ensure efforts are completed successfully, as directed. Represent the Network Team in interactions and meetings with technical IC’s and leaders from other teams.
- Obtain business, software application, and network requirements relevant to assigned projects and efforts from business stakeholders.
- Translate requirements into technical strategy and tasks for any given project or effort.
- Communicate often and clearly with technical and non-technical business leaders about networking matters affecting the business.
- Work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Research, analyze, and present new technologies. Lead the implementation of POC’s through to successful completion. Recommend new technologies based on research and successful POC’s.
- Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance processes and policies for network administration.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the enterprise network architecture.
- Plan and execute changes to the network infrastructure.
- Manage incidents and change windows. Provide leadership and escalations for change and incident conference bridges.
- Investigate network issues and bring to resolution within stated SLA parameters. Root cause analysis.
- Troubleshoot issues involving BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, static routes, multiple VRF’s, STP, VTP, VLANs, switch stacking technology on gear including but not limited to NX-OS, CiscoIOS, CiscoIOS-XE, and PAN-OS
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident management and escalation.
- Monitor and report on the overall design, health, and strategy of the network infrastructure and network engineering projects on a regular basis.
- Provide metrics, written reports, documentation, diagrams, regular email updates, and any other reporting as requested.
- Lead and participate in the design, planning, and maintenance of firewall, routing, WAN, LAN, switching, telephony, WiFi, and other networking technologies.
- Manage and maintain IPAM, circuit inventory, CMDB, ITAM, licensing and manufacturer support.
- Ensure that network management tools are updated and maintained correctly.
- Some travel is required for this position. Currently the travel demands are less than 10-15% per year but are subject to change depending on needs.
- Ensure that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong Project Management skills and demonstrated ability to work and lead cross-functional teams.
- Some overnight travel necessary.
- 4 year degree in IT/IS or other closely related discipline; may consider experience and certifications for degree requirement.
- Minimum 5 years of experience implementing and managing TCP/IP networks.
- Proficient in multiple routing protocols, including but not limited to eBGP, iBGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- The ability to work full time in office.
- Ability to work an 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Ability to work certain night/weekend shifts on an as-needed basis for major infrastructure changes.
- Ability to work several marquee events such as the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
- Unrestricted Authorization to work in the United States.

Recommendations
- Palo Alto, Cisco, or other network engineering certifications
- Experience with the networking of various cloud platforms, such as AWS
- Experience with NetScout, Solarwinds Orion, NetBrain, and/or Clearpass
- Experience with Ruckus WiFi, and Ruckus/Brocade switches is a plus
- Past management experience a plus, but not required

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
