What are the responsibilities and job description for the NOC Technician (3rd Shift) position at Encore Technologies?
Encore Technologies is seeking a NOC Technician to work for a direct client in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a 6 month long Contract to Hire role. This position will be working 3rd shift (Midnight - 8 AM), Sunday through Thursday. This role will be worked 100% on-site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Monitors the network for operating issues involving failures, degradation, and event correlation. Takes corrective action to ensure connectivity and minimize downtime.
· Identify and prioritize circuit repair issues in accordance with established procedures.
· Responsible for documenting issues / resolutions via remedy ticket system for present / future reference.
· Assist with incident escalation, communication with functional lines of business and IT Senior Management as needed.
· Provided first line troubleshooting support for corporate data center – Windows servers, SQL, VMware, UNIX, Share Point, and Exchange servers.
· Assists with problem resolution for hardware communications issues.
· Is responsible for testing and analyzing all elements of network facilities (i.e. power, machinery, software applications, routers, and terminals).
· Assists in maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedure manuals including online media.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Associate degree in related field or equivalent of 1-3 years of experience in a network operations environment.
· Basic technical knowledge of frame relay circuits, and related communications devices.
· Must demonstrate ability to work with others and promote a harmonious working relationship in the NOC, with other Departments and field personnel.
