Encorus Group Engineering, P.C., with offices located in Springville, NY, as well as West Seneca, NY, is a full service engineering, testing and inspection company operating under an ASME NQA-1 compliant quality assurance program. We have a multidiscipline team of professional engineers licensed nationwide. Since our inception in 1996, we have continuously strengthened the company’s engineering and technical capabilities through the selective acquisition of professionals with confirmed engineering, analytical, technical and managerial expertise.
As a complement to our design capabilities, Encorus also operates a fully equipped and accredited in-house civil materials testing laboratory out of its West Seneca office. This group provides comprehensive field inspection of concrete, masonry, soils, asphalt, structural steel, and other construction related materials, as well as the associated laboratory testing required to meet specifications and standards. Our field and laboratory technicians and inspectors are trained and certified to a variety of standards including ACI, CWI, NICET, etc.
Position Description:
Encorus Group is looking for an Asbestos Environmental Inspector to work under the direct supervision of our Regulated Building Materials Manager and will be responsible for performing building inspections for hazardous materials including asbestos, lead based paint, mold, heavy metals, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts hazardous materials inspections, primarily for asbestos.
- Conducts lead-based paint inspections, risk assessments and clearance testing.
- Conducts mold and indoor air quality investigations and sampling for LEED, NYS legislation, etc.
- Provides complete and accurate project and technical data for compiling reports.
- Performs project monitoring and air sampling for asbestos, lead, mold, radon, heavy metals indoor air quality and other contaminants.
- Conducts clearance visual inspections to determine project completeness.
- Provides complete and accurate paperwork to project manager for review and comment.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Candidate shall possess or have the ability to possess certifications in Project Monitor, Air Sampling Technician, Asbestos Inspector, and/or EPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- 0ne (1) plus years of experience conducting inspections or with asbestos and hazardous materials.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to perform field work independently at various work site locations.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Obtain and keep certifications current, as directed by Encorus Group.
- Maintains a valid driver license and is able to drive a motor vehicle in the course of collecting samples, performing field tests and conducting inspections.
- Must be able to comply with company drug screening and pass criminal and motor vehicle background check.
