The Inventory Planner is responsible for developing strategic demand forecasts and determining optimal inventory ownership levels and stocking locations to best support aircraft and maintenance operations. This position involves interaction with a variety of business functions.
- Analyze demand, scheduled tasks and other inputs to establish stocking levels that support operations at the least total cost while insuring optimal productivity of inventory.
- Deploy and use planning and forecasting systems to model inventory requirements. Analyze and recommend the quantity of parts to be purchased or retired due to changes in fleet size and/or stations.
- Ensure proper provisioning levels are met to support all materials regardless of classification and are properly maintained in the applicable Company software.
- Allocate and monitor critical parts, Minimum Equipment List and scheduling requirements.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control, Purchasing, Warranty/Repair and Maintenance Planning as needed, to ensure inventory availability and execute the planning/replenishment process.
- Run daily, weekly and monthly reports in inventory systems.
- Accountable for metrics and benchmarks to measure actual inventory performance.
- Typical office environment, can involve long periods of sitting or standing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience with a strong knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance programs to better assist in purchasing and inventory planning decisions preferred
- Experience working with demand planning and inventory performance
- Extensive data analysis skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
- Strong ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively to meet given time parameters and maintain a strong attention to detail
- Experience communicating and working with all levels of an organization
- Reliable and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills with focus on communication and problem resolution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel Outlook and preferably, Access
- Experience with an inventory management system (PMI) preferred
- Repetitive motion such as typing
- Minimal physical exertion such as sitting, pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
- Ability to work additional hours which may include evenings and weekends
- Some travel may be necessary
