JOB PURPOSE:
The Driver's primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently transport individuals and families, with a particular focus on serving migrant populations associated with the Pecos Children's Center. Strong driving skills are a fundamental requirement, and applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a proven track record of safe driving. Compliance with all state and local driving laws and regulations is mandatory to guarantee the safety of both passengers and the general public. Furthermore, the Driver will play a crucial role in enforcing COVID-19 guidelines, including limiting passenger numbers, providing and ensuring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a thoroughly cleaned and sanitized transportation vehicle.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport Clients and their families from the family reception center to the local bus stations and airports as assigned by the Transportation Lead.
- Provide local transportation as assigned by Leadership.
- Conduct operational errands on behalf of PCC Leadership.
- Provide transportation from the Family Reception Center to Travel/Transit hub station.
- Must have the ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. traffic).
- Must have a polite and professional disposition.
- Must be willing to assist staff loading/unloading luggage and provide staff assistance getting on or off vehicle as needed.
- Abide by all state and local driving laws and regulations to ensure the safety of both passengers and the public.
- Document all serious incidents, daily progress, changes in operations and activities completely, accurately in a timely manner and in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Ensure monthly vehicle/fleet maintenance is completed and logged.
- Ensure daily safety checklists are completed and logged prior to taking vehicle off property.
- Report any mechanical issues regarding fleet to leadership.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, team decisions and operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED is required.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience driving a van, bus or shuttle and have familiarity with GPS devices.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations including Pecos Children's Center with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Must be 21 years or older. Eligible to receive, pass, and maintain security investigation background check - initiated by the National Background Investigations Bureau. Must be a U.S. citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident. Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
