Job Scope

 

A highly collaborative and visible role as part of a global, cross-functional team. Provides supply chain expertise to support Operations in achievement of Service, Financial, New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, and Quality/Compliance objectives and metric goals.  Requires broad knowledge of the business and its objectives, with heavy emphasis on understanding and meeting both internal and external customer needs.  Ensures that activities (material delivery, schedules, services and related resources) are well-planned and coordinated to support business needs.  Performs complex analysis of supply chain data, draws appropriate conclusions, makes recommendations on organizational activities, and participates in implementation. Uses professional concepts and principles to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways.   Ensures that activities are completed in compliance with company policies and department guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities are typically of moderate scope & complexity.  These will include duties in one or more of the following supply chain functions:  Planning, Inventory Management, Distribution and Logistics.  Works on diverse issues requiring in-depth analysis of situations or data, in consideration of a variety of factors.
  • Gathers and maintains demand/supply information for assigned product portfolio. Utilizes best methods to understand, evaluate and develop executable demand/supply plans.
  • Responsible for inventory management, assure adherence to planned levels and minimize excess & obsolete exposure.
  • Provides data, analysis and metrics. Formulates recommendations to support implementation plans.
  • Partners with Customer Service and Sales to facilitate and optimize global Finished Goods inventory and service levels.
  • Proactively identifies potential business risks and creates/suggests mitigation plans to address them.
  • Identifies and implements supply chain opportunities contributing to the improvement of quality, service, productivity, financials (cost and inventory), and cycle times.
  • Proactively responds to changing market conditions and/or customer needs.  Displays flexibility in approach to meeting or exceeding both current and future needs.
  • Contributes to the development of a quality-minded culture within the Operations team by focusing on customer service (external and internal), outstanding compliance, and continuous improvement activities that support business objectives.
  • Monitors material and finished good warehouse inventory and maintains appropriate inventory levels through distribution planning for U.S. and International locations
  • Analyzes MRP requirements, places new material orders, and monitors status of outstanding orders
  • Informs management of potential shortages or issues
  • Pull, pack and ship Finished Goods (FG) via FedEx or other common carriers
  • Act as liaison with FedEx or other common carriers with regard to International customs issues
  • Use of ERP system in order to perform core job duties and responsibilities
  • Use of ERP related handheld scanners (Radley)
  • Assist in preparing shipments to sterilizer, including palletizing of product and supporting documentation
  • Assist with the kitting process for Production Work Orders and transacting in ERP system
  • Conduct routine Cycle Counts of Raw Materials and Finished Goods as directed by Warehouse Manager
  • Compiles data, analyzes, and reports on various metrics as requested by management
  • Ability to convert between different units of measure, using established conversion factors
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Assist in optimizing warehouse layout and maintaining safe and orderly conditions
  • Assist in counting physical inventory and performing periodic cycle counts
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management

 

Additional Job Duties:

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Expected travel time:  Minimal (10% or less).

Qualifications

  • Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.  Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher-level goals. Ability to identify patterns.

 

  • Preferred / Ideal candidates will possess all or some of the following qualifications;
    • APICS certification preferred
    • ERP system experience (strong preference for QAD)
    • Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, and transactional entries preferred
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required

Experience:

  • 3 or more years warehouse, stockroom, or relevant industry experience required
  • MRP/ERP System experience required
  • Minimum of four-five (4-5) years of related experience; medical device, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry knowledge a plus and preferred. 
  • Experience should include all or several of the following areas:  Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Distribution, Procurement and Logistics.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.
  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.

Compensation: $65,000.00- $110,000.00
