What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Trader position at Enel Green Power?
Overview
This position is primarily responsible for pricing, trading, hedging and managing power standard products and options in US commodities markets (experience in one of the following markets: ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, ISONE) and managing day-ahead bidding activities. The Trader must have business knowledge covering both the theoretical definitions and practical implications of liquidity, bid/ask spreads, correlation, risk measurement, risk management. The Trader should have a positive trading track record.
Responsibilities
• Has an understanding of fundamental market conditions and drivers impacting the main power markets and related commodities in North America (power, gas, RECs).• Developing hedging strategy for energy, basis, capacity, transmission rights, RECs.• Define and implement day-ahead bidding strategy in ISO markets (SPP, ERCOT, PJM).• Generate positive P/L and capture market opportunities based on analysis of market conditions.• Develop and maintain market research tools, market analysis.• Developed models to effectively trade virtuals and physical ICE products for US power markets, contributing positively to optimization and trading efforts.• Work as a member of the trading team to manage short term trading portfolios.• Build relationship with market participants.
• Develop skills to commercially contribute to the team in a manner that will generate or assist in the generation of revenue.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (Economics, Finance or Technical degree preferred), Master degree is a plus.• In-depth market knowledge with US power markets (experience in one of the following markets: ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, NYISO, ISONE, CAISO).• 1-3 years of prior experience in a trading environment.• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a group.• Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.• Demonstrates creativity, and independent thought when solving problems.• Good understanding of business processes and data management.• Builds positive relationships with internal and external groups.• Will require full knowledge of functional responsibilities of all groups/individuals within the organization.
