Project Manager

Overview

The Project Manager supports the Senior Project Managers for the execution of assigned complex projects, in order to guarantee the achievement of safety, timeline, economics, quality and closing objectives. The Project Manager can also independently manage minor projects or a phase of a complex project.

Responsibilities

• Support Business Development during all phases of the assessment of the opportunity (due diligence, feasibility study, investment memorandum, budget, risk matrix etc.) 5%
• Support the project initial Hand Over with the relevant Region/Country Business Development unit and the final Hand Over with the customer (usually the Operation & Maintenance department) 5%
• Work on the project planning and schedule with the support of the Project Planning and Cost Control unit 5%
• Work on the project budget with the support of the Project Planning and Cost Control unit 5%
• Support the Procurement Department during all phases of the procurement process(e.g. scouting, Procurement Plan, RFPs, proposal evaluation, claims) 5%
• Support the senior PM in managing the relationships with the suppliers and contractors in collaboration with Contract Management and Expediting & Logistic units and in coordination with Construction and Procurement units 10%
• Support the senior PM in managing the relationships with the Customers and Stakeholder in agreement with other relevant units of Global Renewable Energies business line 10%
• Support the senior PM in leading the project team to achieve the project milestones, always starting from the Safety, and coordinate/attend the project meetings 30%
• Support the production of weekly/month project progress reports and support the PM in informing the senior management on the project status 10%
• Support the Project Closure and the Close Out Report with the relevant lesson learned 5%
• Support the senior PM in coaching and mentoring the assigned resources to promote the skills improvement and an adequate professional growth 10%

• Support the senior PM in promoting the team working and the communication within the assigned project team
• Support the senior PM in promoting the Safety, Environment and Quality Policy and the relevant behavior
• Foster the continuous improvement with lesson’s learned and innovation ideas
• Frequent travels to project site 

Qualifications

• MSC Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical) or Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of Engineering or Construction experience in Power Generation, Renewable Energy, or Large Industrial Engineering and Construction facilities
• Minimum 1 year experience in renewable energy projects
• Regular driver’s license required
• Ability/flexibility to travel for short and long term periods both domestically and internationally.
• Expertise in one or more renewable energy technologies
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Leadership and ability to mentor, direct and delegate to project team
• Skilled in project management practices 
• PMP (PMI certification or equivalent)
• Skilled financial modeling, taxes, and managing budgets
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and cooperate effectively with multidisciplinary and multinational teams
• Advanced Knowledge MS Office, Outlook, Excel and MS Project
• Proficiency in languages other than English is a plus (preferably Italian or Spanish)
• Aptitude to switch to different technologies (wind, solar, geo, hydro and biomass)
