Description of Job:
The Logistics Analyst, reporting to the Logistics Manager, will be responsible for management of the day to day transportation functions in the US. The position will provide significant and detailed facilitation and tracking to the shipments into/from the US, manage DI shipments, and support customs compliance. In addition, it will include the preparation and distribution of vital reports for the organization that impact container and/or shipment status, freight rate tracking, DI Order tracking, etc. An ideal candidate has proven experience in international transportation management, customer service management, data analysis and supply chain activities. The team member will be a critical voice on the supply chain team, providing key context and perspective for supply planning/logistics cost analysis.
What will your job responsibilities and duties be?
- Works in coordination with team on the annual & monthly EGI forecast development.
- Work with Freight Forwarders and 3PL.
- Coordinate with OEM Supplier Shipping/Logistics Team, EGI China Transportation Team and EGI Supply Planning Team for shipping schedule, shipping plan and original exportation.
- Track bookings and shipments into and out of the US both insides and outsides ERP system.
- Spot quote shipments/freight whenever needed.
- Track and update the container and/or shipment status.
- Assist US Customer Compliance requirements.
- Track and process DI shipments, invoices and shipping documentations.
- Maintain New Item Data and conduct transactions in ERP system.
- Analyze transportation routes, data and propose improvement and alternative plan/routes.
- Support and help US Customs clearance, freight forwarder 7501 report, HTS Coding.
- Support both China and US transportation team, whenever necessary.
- Manages and executes various ad-hoc requests
What does our ideal candidate look like?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Analytics, or related area of study
- ERP and MRP systems preferred but not required
- 3 years of analytical experience
- Experience in International Transportation Management, 3PL, or Trucking service management is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent in spoken and written skills, Mandarin is a plus
- Attention to detail, proven analytical and problem solving abilities
- Strong total cost mindset, team oriented and highly self-motivated.
- Ability to analyze vast data sets and produce clear reporting based on intended objective
- Proficiency all Microsoft Office Programs; high level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective project management skills and the ability to prioritize and organize multiple assignments
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across multiple departments
- Effective in making business decisions quickly and independently
- Strong written and oral communication skills
