JOB PURPOSE:
The Estimator will perform plan takeoffs in conjunction with clients, general contractors, and the E1 MEP team (Engineers, Designers, and field personnel), to assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will report to the Operations Manager and will serve as a critical member of the operations team. Specific Job duties include:
- Analyze drawings and specifications.
- Provide clear detailed quantity takeoffs.
- Manage current plan sets and plan addendums.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions.
- Organize subcontractor quotations, negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents and issue properly documented purchase orders.
- Complete budgeting and scheduling for projects and track completion rates compared to cost.
- Monitor progress, requisition change orders, and identify any potential risks.
- Nurture and maintain relationships with subcontractors and clients.
- Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to the project.
- Provide and maintain unit pricing and databases for material and labor costing.
- Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress.
- As necessary to achieve project goals, perform additional duties for Designers and Engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 Years Construction, Estimating, or Design experience.
- Computer and software proficiency including MS Office Suite; various estimating software; and Trimble MEP, Viewpoint MEP, or similar.
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal.
- Relentlessly proactive.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position may require travel to multiple E1 sites as the need arises.
- This position is located in Bozeman MT, with responsibilities for additional locations.
- This FLSA exempt position may be requested to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
