The recruiter plays a vital role in sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified drivers and service technicians to meet our growing transportation needs. Responsible for managing the candidate experience, the driver recruiter ensures all applications are acted upon and qualified talent complete the hiring process.  You will be responsible for executing daily tasks including recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding, conducting orientation and creating a positive business environment for long-term retention of all drivers and service technicians.

Responsibilities:

· Talent Sourcing: Utilize various recruitment channels, including online job boards, social media platforms, professional networks, and referrals, to source potential tanker, propane, and oil drivers and service technicians.

o Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.

o Developing potential leads using cold calling, e-mail, internet recruiting sources and attending recruiting events and tradeshows.

o Build partnerships with trade schools and trade networks. 

· Candidate Screening: Review incoming applications and conduct initial screening to evaluate candidates' qualifications, experience, and suitability for the positions,

· Interviewing: Conduct thorough and structured interviews with shortlisted candidates, assessing their skills, driving experience, customer service abilities, and alignment with the company's values and culture.

· Onboarding: Oversee and facilitate the completion of required new hire paperwork. 

· Orientation: Manage new hire orientation program for drivers and service technicians in support of the onboarding process.

· Driver Qualification: Verify candidates' driving records, licenses, certifications, and background checks to ensure they meet all legal and company-specific requirements for employment.

· Collaborate with Operations: Work closely with the operations team to understand the specific requirements and preferences for drivers based on needs and business demands.

· Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, providing timely feedback and maintaining open communication.

· Employment Branding: Assist in developing and promoting the company's employment brand to attract top talent and position the organization as an employer of choice within the industry.

· Talent Pipeline Management: Maintain an active pipeline of potential candidates to ensure we have access to qualified candidates when needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records using applicant tracking systems or databases.

· Reporting and Metrics: Track recruitment metrics and provide regular reports on the status of recruitment efforts, candidate progress, and time-to-fill vacancies.

· Compliance: Stay up to date with employment laws and regulations related to driver recruitment, ensuring all hiring processes remain compliant.

Requirements:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation recruitment, experience recruiting Class A CDL preferred. 

· Knowledge of recruitment best practices and techniques, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing.

· Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements related to driver qualifications.

· Familiarity with driver qualifications and regulations, including driving records, licenses, and background checks.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with candidates and work effectively with internal teams.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

· Attention to detail and the ability to make informed and objective hiring decisions.

· High level of integrity and professionalism to represent the company and maintain confidentiality.

· Proficiency in using recruitment software and applicant tracking systems (experience with Paylocity is a plus).

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

· A passion for delivering exceptional candidate experiences and promoting a positive employer brand.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. CDL driving experience preferred but not required. 

Job Environment:

You will be working in/based out of our Lawrence, MA office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for long periods of time; communicate and exchange information; frequent use of a computer screen, keyboard, telephone, and/or manual writing. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a moderate noise level. You may also need to travel to meet with candidates, attend job fairs, recruiting events and tradeshows.
