What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Specialist- Waste To Energy, Anaerobic Digesters position at Energy Systems Group?
Energy Systems Group is looking for a Field Service Technician for our facility in New Franken, Wisconsin. This technician responsible for the operations and maintenance of anaerobic digesters and reciprocating engines for ESG company-owned assets located at multiple dairy farms in the region. The technician will apply his/her experience with operations, troubleshooting, and repairs of anaerobic digester systems, electrical generator systems, and reciprocating engines to perform various repairs and maintenance at multiple generation sites.
As a Field Service Technician you will:
- Operate anaerobic digesters including periodic performance of testing, process monitoring and process adjustments.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment associated with the operation of the digester including scrubbers, pumps, blowers, mixers, flares, and piping systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical generator systems, engine failures, and utility transfer switches and switchgears anaerobic digesters and biogas systems
- Repair and maintain commercial gas generators up to 750 kW
- Perform digester, biogas equipment, generator and engine maintenance
- Apply comprehensive understanding of electricity, electrical controls, generator sets and power distribution
- Apply ability to interpret repair work orders, requisition parts and supplies, and complete necessary reporting to accomplish the required repairs
- Maintain an inventory of parts, supplies, and literature
- Comply with the company’s safety standards and policies
- Perform general maintenance on generators, including changing oil and keeping units in good running condition
- Order materials, tools, and instruments from vendors
- Prepare reports and maintain records on equipment and preventative maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment
- Complete necessary paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion
- Utilize mathematical formulas to determine both nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
- Apply ability of reading and understanding schematics
- Ability to be on call and work at multiple site locations
To be successful in this role your background will include:
- High School Diploma or GED with three (3) to five (5) years related experience
- Three (3) years’ experience as Power Generator & Diesel Mechanic; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of anaerobic digesters operations
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree (AA or AS) or Technical degree with at least five (5) years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- HVAC knowledge of coolers, chillers, and cooling towers
