Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Intermediate knowledge of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers, programming and trouble shooting.
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment up to 480 V.
- Intermediate knowledge of, and assist in the maintenance of, SCADA systems, plant, pipeline, and compressor controls; including pneumatic, electrical, and software associated with each.
- Read and use drawings and schematics, including Electrical, Pneumatic, and P&ID.
- Understanding the National Electric Code and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical safety.
- Able to support call out/on call requirements.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Seminars or other formal studies relating to I&E helpful but not required.
- State Electrical License preferred but not required.
Experience:
- 6 years in instrumentation and electrical systems for the Specialist level.
- 8 years in instrumentation and electrical systems for the Sr Specialist level.
Software Knowledge:
Physical requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Work extended hours as required in emergency, on projects, or during outages.
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, or inclement weather.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist level requires 6 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist level requires 8 years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
