A fast growing fuel supplier company is looking for a Cash Application Specialist to join their team. This position sits on a small team of six and reports directly to the Manager. Responsibilities as the Cash Applications Specialist:
- Retrieve and process customer payments into the accounts receivable system daily
- Research issues related to unidentified payments
- Process adjustments related to cash posting discrepancies
- Enter and verify total cash posting amounts into Excel spreadsheet for tracking purposes
- Make deposits monthly of checks by utilizing the check scanning system
- Manage the remittance and cash applications mailbox in Outlook to ensure payment remits and adjustments are received timely
- Research missing remittances or any miscellaneous payments received
- Work with collections and billing personnel to resolve any mis-application of payments
- Provide requested information to collectors, accountants or upper management as requested
- Ensure all cash receipts are posted within the timelines set by corporate accounting per the month end close schedule
- File and maintain paperwork for all cash and adjustment batches
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications for the Cash Applications Specialist:
- 2 years of Cash Applications experience
- High volume AR experience preferred
- Associates Degree
- Great Plains experience
- Knowledge of various banking transactions (ACH, Wire Transfers, Lockboxes)
