SR Accountant

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Accounting, the SR Accountant actively supports general cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities that support our organization and our two-sided, e-commerce marketplace. The SR Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

What you’ll do:

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
• Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the general ledger
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
• Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections with Account Receivable Associate
• Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• As appropriate, coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
• Support payroll activities
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate, collaborate, and leverage resources effectively up, down, and across the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
