The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic accounting and finance team. The Controller will oversee the general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong analytical abilities and extensive knowledge of accounting principles to effectively manage financial reports and forecasts. A CPA designation is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries and conduct monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
- Manage the recording of American Express transactions and maintain the fixed assets schedule.
- Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle.
- Provide insights and assistance in quarterly expense variance analysis.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the company cash flow.
- Support external annual and interim audits.
- Develop, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall team objectives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a public accounting firm.
- Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
