The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting and finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The ideal candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations
- Record American Express monthly transactions
- Maintain fixed assets schedule
- Manage full accounts receivable cycle
- Assist in quarterly expense variance explanation
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the company cashflow
- Assist with external annual and interim audits
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall team goals
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a public accounting firm.
- Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.
