This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

Job Purpose
Plan, organize, direct and manage the activities of the Purchasing function, Production Planning, and Warehouse operations to assure timely supply of products to our customers with regard to quality, cost, quantity and production capacity. Provide leadership to support Lean Manufacturing, JIT, and new or value added ideas to improve company efficiency and profitability while enhancing customer relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage departmental human resources in Purchasing, as well as to procure materials at the lowest cost consistent with the quality and service required and within the corporate guidelines. (Annual spending of ~$43 million).
- Manage departmental resources in Warehouse Operations including all employees, to
- Manage departmental support of ISO, OSHA, DOT and TPM by assuring compliance with program requirements and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain the company's competitive position in its industry and conserve profits, in relation to customer shipments and materials.
- Provide guidance in the analysis of data and report on long-range availability and costs of major purchased items and to search the market for new and alternative ideas, products and materials whose adoption might improve company efficiency and profitability.
- Coordinate plant’s SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) / PSI (Production Sales Inventory) processes in close conjunction with Regional / Global SCM functions to translate customer demand into efficient production plan linked to effective sourcing processes to maximize customer experience.Provide leadership to all associates and create a working environment for employee development and opportunity through the use of performance management and consistent communication.
- Establish departmental goals and objectives to achieve plant and corporate performance objectives and budgets.
- Provide communication and training in support of our Health and Safety initiatives.
Qualifications
COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of plant operation with regard to capacity, scheduling, customer service, MRP, purchase requirements, logistics, ISO, OSHA, DOT and TPM while working to integrate best practice aspects into achieving the plant goals and objectives.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, and a minimum of 10 years experience in purchasing or materials management. CPM Certification and/or APICS Certification highly desirable. Strong knowledge of the legal and ethical boundaries of procurement. Working knowledge of MRP and MRP II.
Language Skills: Fluent verbal and written skills in English
Mathematical Skills: High level of accuracy in basic Math.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to associate cause and affect relationships, and determine patterns of activity in anticipation of change to the operation or personnel.
Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
