Job Summary: The Assistant Controller oversees the financial accounting and managerial cost accounting functions of the Company. The Assistant Controller is charged with monitoring the financial viability of the Company, instituting appropriate accounting controls, and exercising fiscal constraint to maximize the potential for business success. The Assistant Controller receives broad direction from the Corporate Controller and Senior Management Team and resolves most problems independently. The Assistant Controller must be above reproach and demonstrate the highest ethical conduct in the completion of his/her duties. This is a Confidential Position that manages sensitive employee and Company financial information that may be protected by state and federal law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:
· Prepare, analyze, and verify financial statements and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.
· Prepare/present analysis on variances vs budget and lead meaningful conversations with budget owners and senior management to ensure transparency and alignment to business strategies and goals.
· Ensure compliance with financial accounting policies and internal controls.
· Lead the financial reporting process by fulfilling requirements accurately and on a timely basis.
- Authorizes and issues payments to IEA payable accounts in a timely manner per agreed terms.
- Invoices and monitors IEA receivable accounts; receives and processes all payments to Company; reconciles differences in amount, terms, discounts, surcharges, etc.
- Analyzes major accounts and reconciles subsidiary accounts to general ledger (monthly).
- Develops, implements, and maintains AP/AR information systems and related internal forms, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and pursues collection strategies to recover late/unpaid receivables.
- Investigates all account complaints, researches problems, and adjusts or requests payment, as necessary.
- Provides supporting documentation and special/required reports for Company financial, budget, and operational reviews.
- Maintain Fixed Asset Accounting Module.
- Maintain Project Accounting Module.
· Support the deployment of innovative technology solutions and financial procedures.
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Develop standard rates (direct labor, variable overhead, and fixed overhead) for manufacturing cost centers.
- Develop landed cost standards for purchased materials.
- Set standard costs of manufactured goods.
- Participate on new product development teams and lead the cost estimating process.
- Lead the “design to order” product cost estimating process.

Work Environment:
- Work location(s): Office; metal fabrication/assembly shop; minimal travel.
- Office environment. Limited exposure to shop related fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, noise, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions and moving mechanical parts/equipment.
- Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses with side shields when in shop areas. Safety toe shoes only if planning on being on shop floor at a workstation assisting with or monitoring a shop operation where he/she could be exposed to falling parts or run over by forklifts, cartwheels, etc.

- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Infor CSI / Syteline), current technologies and applications.
- Extensive knowledge of specific accounting, payroll, and spreadsheet software (MS Office) and systems.
- Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Ability to build and maintain positive employee and business relationships (in person/phone/e-mail).
- Basic knowledge of company products, radiator assembly, construction, and repair—parts, materials, and methods.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices.
- Experiential: Five or more years of financial and managerial accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Educational: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA is desirable.
- Certificates, Licenses, etc.: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and / or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly desirable.
