Position Overview
This position will work within ENGINE’s central marketing team to develop and execute world-class digital and creative marketing campaigns for Cassandra while supporting ENGINE and its clients (both internal and external). This role requires a proactive, organized, broadly capable, creative human who can execute within brand guidelines while also bringing new ideas to the table.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Design beautiful, engaging imagery and layouts that stay on-brand—but don’t be afraid to push the boundaries
- Collaborate with the marketing and Cassandra teams to shape ideas and concepts
- Understand data and know how to visualize it accurately and, preferably, beautifully
- Have ideas and share them—you’re spotting trends, sharing articles, and being inspired by what’s new
- Be curious—there’s always more to learn
- Be adaptable—every week is different and, while there are consistent elements in the job, you’ll probably end up doing things you’ve never done before
- Be a Chameleon—design reports and collateral for Cassandra’s clients, adhering to their brand standards when required (actual Chameleons need not apply)
- Be comfortable working across platforms—we’re talking print and digital, email, social media, slides, video, the Cassandra Daily, and more
- Be organized—PDFs, PNGs, and JPGs are great, but we’re gonna need to have those native files, too
- Be humble—“kill your darlings” isn’t just good advice for writers, it’s good advice for all of us
What we’re looking for in skills and personality
- 5+ years of relevant design experience with strong portfolio
- Fast, efficient, confident designer with a positive attitude (especially when things get hectic)
- Able to defend design decisions, but also able to accept and implement direct feedback
- Creative, vocal, and open-minded when brainstorming
- Curious and passionate about popular culture and trends
- Willing to pitch in and collaborate outside of your lane. “That’s not my job” isn’t a phrase we often use.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Proficiency in slides-based design using software like Google Slides, Keynote, and PowerPoint (even though we both know PPT sucks)
- Proficiency in Mac operating system
- Photography and photo editing skills a plus
- Video editing and light motion graphics experience a big plus
- Excited to be part of a team and eager to grow
