ESL Academic Coordinator

An accredited English language school focusing on quality, Global Village Hawaii is seeking to fill our Academic Coordinator position. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching ESL, be detail oriented, and possess excellent organizational skills. This is a full-time position that includes both teaching and administrative responsibilities. Benefits include paid time off and medical/dental coverage. Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching:

• Teach and sub ESL courses and private lessons.
• Conduct faculty training.

Testing:

• Conduct and grade intake and proficiency exams.
• Assist with administering Cambridge exams as needed.

Curriculum/Program Development:

• Ensure teachers have curricular materials needed for classes.
• Assist in creating and implementing new curriculum.

Administrative:

• Schedule, prepare, and assign professional development for faculty meetings.
• Assist with documenting and enforcing attendance standards.
• Create graduation certificates.
• Take a supporting role in achieving reaccreditation.

Reporting/Program Evaluation:

• Compile weekly, monthly, and annual curriculum and enrollment data and report on it.
• Prepare monthly reports and annual comparative analyses reports on student data and curriculum.
• Participate in bimonthly meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree with ESL teaching experience
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and be relied upon
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Available to work Monday – Friday

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree in TESOL, ESL/SLA/SLS, or Applied Linguistics
• 2 years of ESL teaching experience
• Bilingual (Proficient in Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin)
• Experience with exam administration
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
