Responsibilities
The Pipeline Integrity Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and managing the company’s pipeline integrity assessment plans (Gas and Liquids), attending federal and state inspections, developing new integrity processes, and collecting integrity performance measures for Annual reporting.
- Develop and execute pipeline integrity scope of work on IMP (Integrity Management program) covered segments and new projects
- Maintain Integrity assessment plan. Assist pipeline integrity team in identifying, tracking, and reporting on the Assessment projects
- Review and analyze line segment specific information to identify risks and threats
- Perform remaining strength calculations and evaluate Integrity assessment results to determine need for temporary pressure reductions and/ or remediation.
- Ensure records and documentation from Integrity Assessment projects are completed and filed consistent with established guidelines and procedures.
- Perform HCA and ID site field validation and Ensure HCAs are identified accurately in GIS
- Lead the IMP team in ensuring TVC (Traceable, verifiable, Complete) on MAOP confirmation documents
- Review and advise on new integrity related rulemaking including gap analysis and inclusion into IMPs
- Provide updates to IMP Plans & appendices
- Review assessment and dig projects with integrity team on a reoccurring basis to ensure compliance
- Work closely with internal and external project members for project acquisition and execution for projects related to integrity management programs and /or compliance
- Review Engineering Assessment including but not limited to: Corrosion Growth Assessments, Fitness for Service, Dent Stress and Strain, Bending Strain, Leak detection analysis, load analysis and Risk assessments
- Support Integrity field specialist on inspection and repair projects when needed
- Perform various audits and reviews of completed Integrity Assessment projects to ensure compliance
- Prepare and submit PHMSA annual reports
- Communicate with internal and external key personnel to resolve project specific issues related to documentation compliance
- Stay current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods, repair methods and other applicable technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience desirable in pipeline integrity, risk analysis and fitness for service evaluations
- Have advanced computer skills in Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as the ability to quickly learn new applications
- Working knowledge of the various Federal and State pipeline regulations including Integrity Management regulations per CFR Parts 192 Natural Gas and 195 Liquid Pipeline Regulations is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
