This position will be responsible for all aspects of operational accounting for a variety of complex midstream oil and gas assets, which includes invoicing/settlement for assigned assets and providing assistance in margin and balance sheet analysis. Works with multiple assets in several geographic areas with diverse operations. Tasks include:
- Support resolution of Accounts Receivable balances on assigned properties on a timely basis, keeping balances current.
- Reconcile any other balance sheet accounts assigned, resolve outstanding issues.
- Reconcile system volume balances.
- Make journal entries as necessary and provide supporting documentation.
- Respond timely to both internal and external customer needs.
- Periodically solicit feedback from internal clients for performance and improvement.
- Work closely with commercial to record monthly accrual.
- Perform monthly revenue analysis timely and accurately. This process includes accrued to actual variance analysis and prior period adjustment explanation, month to month.
- Special projects as assigned, including participation in systems development and testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 4 years Midstream Energy accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with RightAngle and PeopleSoft financial system preferred.
- Proficiency with a Revenue or ERP system preferred.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Requires strong problem solving and resolution skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze transactions required.
- Ability to communicate, build relationships and work effectively within all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate an aptitude for quick learning, as well as an ability to meet inflexible close-related deadlines.
