What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Manager position at ENT & Allergy office?
Our integrated clinical practice is looking for an efficient manager to lead a team of appointment and surgery schedulers within the ENT department.
The candidate must be highly professional, personable, and share our commitment to outstanding patient care and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a working ‘lead’ doing all the tasks that our schedulers do.
- Assisting all schedulers with any appointment/surgery scheduling concerns.
- Work closely with doctors, medical assistants and other departments with scheduling concerns
- Train new hires
- Manage staff schedule and ensure all providers are suitably staffed
- Monitor and reduce patient wait times
- Ensure patient registration (including insurance) and other forms for the practice are acquired before appointment
- Initiate processes to make patient experience better
- Motivate and engage the team
Required Qualifications:
- Committed to patient care by demonstrating compassion
- Must have in-depth knowledge of various insurances and how they work
- Excellent multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, be flexible and a quick decision maker
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Ability to deal proactively with situations and work co-operatively with other staff and management to meet the changing needs of the office
- Strong work ethics, reliability and punctuality
- 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in a medical office
