What are the responsibilities and job description for the Factory Safety Manager position at Entegee?
The Safety, Health and Environmental Manager is critical to the success of our safety, health & environmental sustainability initiatives. The primary objective of the role is to protect and improve the safety of our employees through prevention, encouraging a culture where safety is embedded and ensuring health and environmental sustainability are ingrained as core values. Additionally, you will support, coach and guide the site leadership teams whilst also driving us to achieve best in class performance and supporting us on our SH&E journey. The position ensures compliance of all SH&E aspects of the Sites and sets local SH&E strategies for overall success in alignment with corporate policy and common practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Site SH&E Culture –
- Actively participates on site Leadership Team and effectively leads, coaches, and develops operations line supervision to be effective SH&E leaders/coaches in their respective positions.
- Support, coach and guide the site leadership teams.
SH&E Performance –
- Partners with Site leadership team to develop Site SH&E key priorities, drivers, and activities with key performance indicators to drive Site SH&E performance improvement.
Compliance –
- Ensure our sites maintain continuous “audit ready” state of compliance with company SH&E policies and procedures as well as all applicable external regulatory requirements.
SH&E Strategies, Programs and Plans –
- Develops SH&E best in class programs, systems, and processes, including training and mentoring to establish clear procedures on SH&E measures and precautions.
Risk Assessment and Elimination –
- Leads the effective implementation and utilization of risk assessment and risk prediction processes across our sites to ensure these are effective at identifying and mitigating hazards and are effectively communicated and understood by all affected employees.
- Ensures investigation of all SH&E related incidents utilizing NCE tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensures all actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented while also ensuring effective injury case management process is fully implemented, well understood, and functioning as desired.
SH&E Capability Building –
- Develops Site SH&E leadership through active support, coaching and feedback.
SH&E pillar/NCE/NIMS –
- Act as multi-site lead for implementation of SH&E components of Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE). Ensure third party ISO and OHSAS certification.
Liaison and technical expertise support –
- Provides technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Knowledge and interpretive ability of state and federal environmental and safety regulations
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in SH&E roles and at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in the World Class industry for SH&E and solid understanding of ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001, LEAN and TPM concepts. Detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations
