Job Description
As a Project Manager you will work as an integral member of a market segment team providing vocational trucks and general construction equipment to customers. Grouped with both outside and inside sales representatives, this position will work with its team in determining customer’s equipment needs, writing specifications, and creating budgets and schedules for customer truck builds. The Project Manager will guide a Commercial Truck Upfit through its initial concept to final creation encompassing elements of design, engineering, estimating, purchasing and job processing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Design commercial truck upfit solutions
- Interpret specifications
- Create costing quotes per customer specifications
- Perform weight analysis & vehicle layouts
- Create F.E.T. (Federal Excise Tax) estimates
- Create Shop Orders
- Create and/or facilitate customer proposal drawings
- Create and/or facilitate shop installation detail drawings as necessary
- Work with the Production Department in scheduling and final build processes
- Monitor quality control standards
- Complete vehicle certifications
- Closed job analysis and recording
- Other duties as assigned by management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Degree with multiple disciplines, including hydraulics, wiring schematics, structural and mechanical layout; or equivalent experience required.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel being primary skill)
- Demonstrated math skills
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand fundamentals of mechanical systems as related to the commercial truck industry
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work with people across all levels of the organization, and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
