- This position is required responsible for utilizing existing repository of 3D models to translate design request from description / sketch to finished product drawing with Bill of Materials.
- Drafters will utilize SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD to produce 3D models of customer designs.
- Component models that do not yet exist will need to be created, or existing models will need to be updated as-needed.
- In this role, you will receive descriptions of desired assemblies and utilize an existing component library to produce a schematic and Bill of Material of each assembly.
- If there are gaps in the component library, you will identify them to product Engineering to ensure the library is increased in size.
- A successful candidate will respond to a drawing request with a completed drawing in approximately one business day.
- Attention to detail. A strong candidate will ensure that that all design requirements are met on their design prior to release.
- Asking questions. A strong candidate will ask questions when insufficient information is provided rather than making assumptions.
- Multitasking. A strong candidate will be able to work on multiple projects and prioritize by the amount of time each task will take
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred - certification in AutoCAD
- Ability to read, understand, and follow documented processes and procedures
- Good attention to detail; ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry
- People and Teamwork. Customers rely on their Sales representative and Application Engineers to identify the desired product, and drafters are relied upon to produce this assembly to customer specifications.
- Accountability, Integrity, and Trust. In the midst of a global pandemic, customers have specific timelines that must be met; honest and open communication is required in setting a timeline for response or if the timeline cannot be met.
- Creativity and Innovation. Sometimes customer requirements are not rigid, and there may not be a specific way to assemble the desired product. Creativity may be required either to improve upon the design of a customer who is new to the industry, or to identify why the desired assembly should not be produced as described.
