- Maintain and troubleshoot all ICP-MS and other instruments (IC, GC-MS, HPLC) in both R&D Lab and QA labs, including
- Perform routine maintenance for ICP-MS and other lab instruments
- Diagnose and troubleshoot errors and repair instruments timely to minimize instrument downtime
- Inspect instruments and control equipment to make sure correct and safe operations
- Support the installation, operation, and verification of new instruments
- Record and report all maintenance activities accurately and timely
- Support new method development and improvement of existing methods
- Document work in internal reporting systems, and external publications
- Travel between Billerica and Bedford sites to support instrumentation at both sites
- B.S. or Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or other related field with working experience in semiconductor or chemical related industries.
- 5 years’ working experience working with triple-Q ICP-MS, familiar with instrument operations, maintenance and troubleshooting (BS, 8 years)
- Experience with Agilent instruments and MassHunter software is highly desired.
- Experience with Thermo Ion Chromatography equipment is a plus.
- Additional experience with other lab instruments (GC, HPLC, GCMS, LCMS, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills demonstrated by both oral presentations and technical documentations
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong passion with learning and teaching
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative working environment
- Ability to function as a role model to maintain a safe work environment
- Ability to work with a large team and support different labs on instruments maintenance and troubleshooting in timely manner
- Ability to communicate well and coordinate with team members and customers
- Ability to complete work safely and independently
- Ability to learn quickly and become proficient on many other analytical techniques
