In this Role, you will:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot high hazard chemical process equipment.
- Start-up, operate, maintain and shut-down equipment per operating procedures. Field operation of process equipment including batch reactors, vessels, valves, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, related controls and instrumentation to keep the process operating at desired production levels. This includes making rounds, following check sheets, taking samples, and conducting periodic patrols of assigned equipment to regulate system pressures, temperatures, etc.
- Train and assist other personnel as needed.
- Operate forklift to move drums and pallets of materials
- Exercise judgment and work independently and with others with minimal supervision. Keep supervision informed of issues in the area.
- Know and adhere to safety, environmental and housekeeping responsibilities, and rules.
- Completely and correctly fill out batch records.
- Label all materials accurately and promptly.
- Work with the operations team to continuously improve operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Four years of work experience in a chemical, mechanical or electrical process; four years of military experience; or a two-year associate/technical degree.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn
- Demonstrated planning and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to self- manage and collaborate and cooperate in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to wear various personal protective equipment including respirators.
- Ability to follow procedures with little guidance, after training period.
- Ability to adhere to all safety standards
- Highly dependability
- Ability to see improvement opportunities and offer solutions
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
