The Materials Manager is responsible for managing the material usage and effectiveness in plant operations. This includes high level planning, scheduling, receiving, and monitoring materials requirements, inventory levels, and the actual purchasing of materials. These materials can range from raw material to off-the-shelf items to parts built to Entegris specifications and drawings. The Materials Manager’s responsibilities extend from the purchasing of the material, to delivering the completed kits to Operations and everything in between.
This position is key to the success of the facility in reaching its projected revenue. The Material Manager will successfully lead direct reports, coach to optimize performance and will hold individuals responsible to predefined metrics.
In this role you will:
- Develop a highly capable scheduling and inventory control team through continuous improvement, metric performance, personnel development and strong performance management.
- Drive accountability and closure of manufacturing supply constraints in partnership with Operations, Engineering, Business Unit Planning and Business Unit Marketing.
- Ensure discipline and quality for the inputs int the development and maintenance of raw material & semi-finished goods inventory / safety stock strategies in accordance with Business Unit & Service Level strategies.
- Collaborate with Operations, Project Managements and Engineering to resolve discrepancies.
- Produce project risk analysis for planned order discrepancies, and create material shortage reports.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility through budget planning and develop strong accountability across materials team for sales value of production (SVOP), variance mitigation, inventory right-sizing, and excess and obsolete inventory management (including MRB).
- Seek and drive continuous improvement opportunities with an emphasis on cost reduction, supply chain reliability, and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in factory planning.
- Strong SAP or other equivalent ERP (Oracle, PeopleSoft) system experience; PP (Production Planning) and MM (Material Management) modules.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Systems e.g. Lean Inventory management, Kanban/JIT systems, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred; modeling, pivot tables, v-lookup, macros .
