Job Summary / Purpose
Oversees safe, reliable, and customer-centric performance of Power Delivery Reliability Control Center business processes and technology.
Drives day-to-day process and tool performance improvements by partnering with internal organizations (IT, L&D-Operations, Grid Technology, Customer Journey), developing improvement business cases, and providing operational insight on emerging technologies and work practices.
Strong and engaged leader that champions a customer-centric control center environment.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Business Process Oversight
- Owns front-line business process oversight of Control Center applications suite, including ADMS, Storm Assist, EMS, GMS, Training Simulators, Planned Outage Mgmt tools (TOMS, D-line, D-substation), etc.
- Ensures new business processes are adequate, sustainable, and documented
- Maintains application Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
- Identifies and assesses process and software improvement opportunities to deliver operational excellence
- Develops application training and integrates with Control Center training programs
- Develops owns and monitors what good looks like through SLAs with IT
- Develops KPIs, etc. to ensure business processes support objectives
- Application Strategy Partner
- Partners with Information Technology, Grid Technology, and software vendors by developing business cases for operational software repairs and enhancements, assisting with strategic and technology roadmaps, leading application issue escalations and subsequent corrective action plans, and assures quality of vendor deliverables from business perspective.
- Project Delivery Business Lead
- IT Project Business lead for software application projects, tasked with requirements, testing, and acceptance.
- Provides vendor oversight from utility perspective through project execution across all dimensions (cost, schedule, scope quality assurance) and develops and implements project management plans
- Works closely with IT and Grid Technology by sharing information and ensuring alignment between business needs and proposed solutions and deliverables communicated to vendors.
- Evaluation of and decision-making regarding vendor scope change requests
- Industry Representative
- Represents Control Center viewpoints in industry working groups, peer reviews, and conferences
- Provides operational insight on emerging technologies and work practices
- Responds to utility peer surveys and information sharing requests
- Provides key input in operations processes, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable NERC standards, corrective action program, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serves in the Incident Command Structure during major events, acting as leader for ADMS and Storm Assist support.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent operations work experience. MBA preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
10 years business operations, project management, or systems operations
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Minimum : Influence others without direct authority, Change, Configuration, and Risk Management principles understanding, Entergy’s Capital Project Standard knowledge
Desired : SDLC / ITIL proficiency, DMS / OMS, SCADA systems knowledge, Transmission and / or Distribution Operations experience
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
Desired : PMP certification
