Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties to include preparing monthly tax accounting close journals, reconcile tax accounts, analyze new GL accounts for proper tax treatment and assist other Tax groups (Regulatory Support, External Reporting, Federal & State income tax compliance) as required. Additional work duties will include maintaining Tax Basis Balance Sheets, provide quarterly and annual audit responses to outside auditors, continual look at improving processes, etc. Position will need to work closely with federal and state tax counsel to implement planning strategies.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: Advanced degree in taxation or accounting
Minimum experience required of the position
- Tax Specialist: 0-3 years in tax or accounting Tax Specialist, Sr: 5 years in tax or accounting Preferred: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the utility industry preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- None
- Desired/Preferred Competencies:
- Strong overall computer and technology skills desired
- Prior tax accounting experience, including knowledge of monthly, quarterly and year end processes.
- Adept at using tax technology tools (PowerPlan Provision and PowerTax)
- Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively use tax research tools.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:
