JOB SUMMARY

The Relationship Associate/Advisor works as part of a collaborative team to assist customers and contribute to the sales growth of the Bank by identifying financial needs, processing transactions efficiently, and offering appropriate products or services. Enhances consumer and business relationships by staying current on bank solutions to offer appropriate products and services to exceed customer’s needs. Serves as a trusted advisor. Consults on complex customer inquiries and recognizes and mitigate risk. Maintains commitment to continuous improvement and learning. Assists with training Relationship Associates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Exceed customer expectations by following the guidelines of the customer experience program

  • Effectively communicate the Bank’s value proposition to existing and new customers
  • Engage with customers in a dynamic environment by actively listening and encouraging ongoing conversation to uncover opportunities to deepen customer relationships.
  • Proficient in determining customer’s existing and long-term financial needs and identifies triggers for potential referral opportunities to other business lines (Wealth, Commercial, Cash Management, Mortgage, and Insurance) through consultative selling.
  • Manage designated customer portfolios (no less than 50 customer check-ins per quarter) to build rapport, including periodic check-ins to exceed the customer’s expectations. Demonstrate the ability to expand the relationships within assigned portfolio. Organically grow portfolio of new customers through increased community involvement and other independent business development efforts.
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of features and benefits of all products, services, and solutions to provide customers with appropriate information to assist with selection of the most beneficial accounts and services. Understand account ownership types and authorization.
  • Adept at using, advising on, and engaging customers in digital and other self-service technology. Serve as concierge for our digital offerings during the account opening process.
  • Assist with operations of the branch including cash and vault management, audits, and Federal Reserve cash shipments. Hold head cash as assigned and act as custodian of ATM as assigned.
  • Follow account opening procedures including set-up, maintenance, and documentation standards.
  • Process customer transactions accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Bank and branch policies.
  • Process consumer loan and home equity applications without assistance from Central Underwriting; obtain required documentation for approval.
  • Understands and able to discuss and process EZ Business loans without assistance.
  • Rent safe deposit boxes and admit customers to safe deposit vault area according to branch policy.
  • Identify suspicious/fraudulent activity, unusual cash activity, and identify theft red flags. Process Currency Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports as necessary.
  • Responsive and timely with customer correspondence and problem resolution. Follow the Sundown Rule and Buck Stops Here Rule.
  • Act as an informational resource to branch team members.
  • Prompt and regular attendance.
  • Perform all duties consistent with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations as well as Bank policies.
  • Organize community events within the branch.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associates Degree a plus
  • 2 years related professional sales/banking experience/training preferred
  • Function as part of a team and interacts well with team, peers, and customers.
  • Effectively communicate with fellow team members.
  • Build relationships with customers and identify their needs.
  • Present information and respond to questions from team members and customers.
