The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Manager of Major Gifts to help lead the major gifts program nationally, and to manage a portfolio of major donors. This is currently a hybrid role with at least two working days in the Fund's Times Square office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of a 20-person Advancement Department, the Manager of Major Gifts will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospective donors, maintaining accurate records of donors/prospects in the Raiser’s Edge database and using Moves Management protocols to increase giving over time. Working with the Chief Advancement Officer and Individual Giving team, the Manager of Major Gifts will identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and secure annual major gifts for the Fund’s “In The Spotlight” program ($2,500 ) and other campaigns through in-person and virtual one-on-one meetings, and/or in writing or over the telephone.
In collaboration with the Individual Giving team, the Manager of Major Gifts will develop and implement annual major donor cultivation and solicitation action plans, including renewals, upgrades, prospecting and acknowledgements; ensure smooth fulfillment of membership benefits for In The Spotlight donors; and support planned giving donor solicitation. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, strategic and collegial, demonstrating long-range planning skills, flexibility, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for the work of the Entertainment Community Fund.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of development experience with a strong background and proven success in individual major gift fundraising.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising database; proficiency with all MS Office applications.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Available for evening and weekend events outside of regular working hours.
PREFERRED QUALITIES
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the performing arts and entertainment industry and philanthropic community.
- Budgeting and program management experience.
