Overall Function
Reporting to the AVP, Strategic Operations EDF Business, the Senior Manager, Strategic Operations EDF Business works directly with the EDF Business Net Zero Value Chain team senior leader and collaborates closely with the Value Chain team workstream leads to strengthen program operations, improve efficiencies and collaboration, and drive greater impact.
The Senior Manager advances the Net Zero Value Chain team goals through strategic prioritization and expert project management skills. They are responsible for ensuring that initiatives are structured, staffed, and managed to support EDF-wide goals, deliver on current projects and donor deliverables, and meet annual budget targets. The Manager will align the Value Chains work and deliverables with EDF’s impact, solutions and regional teams, as well as working closely with staff from across EDF Business, to drive and amplify results in key workstreams.

Job Location
This role can be performed either 100% remotely from home or on a hybrid arrangement out of any EDF office based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the strategy and implementation plans for all aspects of the Net Zero Value Chain work, consisting of complex, highly matrixed projects and requiring collaboration with leaders across EDF Business
- Support matrixed teams that maximize efficiency and promote deep collaboration
- Work with workstream teams to support project implementation
- Work with project leaders in the development of proposals, budgets and launching new projects
- Collaborate with Value Chain team staff to manage and track delivery of outcomes as defined by program vision and in the development of proposals, budgets and launching new projects
- Drive annual goal setting and work plan development process for EDF Business
- Assist in review of program progress and identify needed changes in strategy, resource allocation, tactics and staff development; work with team to implement and measure progress
- Work with diverse internal project teams to reach agreement and consensus
- Coordinate across relevant EDF programs and departments to implement workplans for large, multi-stakeholder projects
- Coordinate quarterly and annual planning in collaboration with other initiatives, regions and departments as needed as well as program retreats and planning sessions
- Work with the team to develop metrics and systems for measuring and communicating program results
- Assist in executing on-going development and mentoring for EDF Business staff, as well as other projects and topics related to employee engagement
- Participate in advancing EDF diversity, equity, and inclusion goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of relevant experience and college degree preferred. Relevant work including project management experience and experience supporting the development of organizational systems and protocols
- Ability to forge collaborations and work in and across a complex, matrixed organization while delivering results
- Positive self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, high energy and the ability to work independently
- Thoughtful and strategic approach to problem-solving, while not losing site of smaller details. Experience working with teams that deploy strategies that involve economic and market-based solutions to environmental challenges will be a distinct advantage
- Expertise in managing multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of teams in a dynamic and creative environment
- Proven skill at building relationships to engender trust and influence cross-functionally in order to drive execution toward common goals
- Sound, independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload
- Experience with fundraising and tracking and reporting outcomes a plus
- Excellent written and verbal skills, particularly in communicating complex financial or corporate business matters to lay audiences
- Willingness to take risks, try new approaches and tackle difficult conversations and barriers with innovative ideas
- A broad understanding of environmental issues and demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Experience implementing DEI initiatives a plus
- Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
