What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at EnviroServe?
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the development, administration, compliance and communication of all team member health and welfare programs. This role is a part of the People team reporting directly to the Vice President, People. The Benefits Specialist works closely with our benefits consultants, vendors, and internal colleagues in Finance, Payroll and People to support our team members.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and manage team member benefit programs including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, FSAs/HSAs, Cobra, FMLA, Paid Leaves, Retirement and various supplemental benefit offerings.
· Provide advice and counsel on benefit plan design, new legal requirements and needed changes.
· Monitor market trends related to health and welfare benefits to ensure competitive offerings.
· Oversee benefit enrollment and claim management.
· Coordinate with external vendors and lead the annual open enrollment process.
· Participate on the 401k committee, coordinate meetings and manage compliance activities.
· Coordinate with internal resources to ensure accuracy of team member status and pay.
· Works closely with external brokers and vendors to ensure a seamless team member experience, compliance with ERISA and other laws, as well as accurate data transfer, eligibility and enrollments.
· Coordinate with Vice President, People and external brokers and vendors on renewals to ensure accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness.
· Responsible for keeping all Summary Plan Descriptions and Plan Documents up-to-date and shared with team members.
· Provide benefits expertise and communication assistance with acquisitions and other organizational growth efforts.
· Track, audit and process vendor invoices and assists with budgeting process.
· Oversee automated data file transfers to ensure accuracy and manages several benefits requiring manual data updates on a regular and timely basis.
· Complete/oversee legal filings including but not limited to 5500’s and 1095-C’s.
· Collaborate with People Operations Specialist to ensure the Benefits page of the Intranet is up-to-date and refreshed regularly.
· Manages benefit communications with team members on changes, reminders, and legal communications. Also coordinates benefit education sessions.
Requirements:
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing all aspects of health and welfare benefits, preferably as a sole benefits resource.
· High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field is preferred.
· CEBS certification or similar preferred.
· Excellent organizational skills required with the ability to thrive in a fast paced and evolving organization.
· Excellent technology skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), HRIS (preferably Dayforce), data file creation and report writing.
· A strong communicator with a “one team” service excellence and communication style.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
