What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at Enviroworks LLC?

SUMMARY: Operates one or more types of power construction equipment and performs other duties associated with construction projects. Note: Classification as Equipment Operator 1, 2, 3 is at the sole discretion of the Company based on the type of equipment operations required for the project and/or experience, as outlined in the Qualifications (Experience) Section.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities compose this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Follows all safety policies and procedures.

2. Performs work in a variety of locations, including other cities/states, and works a variety of schedules, as assigned.

3. Operates several types of power and hydraulic construction equipment, such as (not necessarily all inclusive):

· compressors

· pumps

· hoists

· shovels

· scrapers

· graders

· finish graders

· backhoes

· motor graders

· excavators

· loaders

· bobcats

· dozers

4. Moves and/or trenches dirt.

5. Helps set up and inspect equipment, make adjustments, and perform some maintenance and minor repairs.

6. Adjusts hand wheels and depresses pedals to drive machines and control attachments, such as:

· blades

· buckets

· scrapers

· swing booms

7. Assists other craft workers.

8. Performs other related duties, as assigned, or duties not necessarily mentioned above, but typically associated with this type of position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct subordinates. May serve in a leadership capacity for certain aspects of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized trade school training on various heavy equipment highly desirable.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license (CDL desired) and a good driving record.

EXPERIENCE:

· Equipment Operator 1: Novice operator and/or operator in training under the direct supervision of a foreman and/or skilled equipment operator. May operate equipment such as, but not limited to backhoes, rollers, etc.

· Equipment Operator 2: Skill level required to operate equipment such as, but not limited to graders, bulldozers, scrapers, excavators, etc.

· Equipment Operator 3: Highly skilled operator with the ability to handle most heavy equipment.

Note: Classification as Equipment Operator 1, 2, 3 is at the sole discretion of the Company based on the type of equipment operation required for the project and/or skill level/experience.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE:

· Demonstrated ability to work safely Note: Any employee who demonstrates the inability to work safely is not qualified for the position.

· Working knowledge of OSHA requirements.

· Demonstrated ability and willingness to follow specific supervisory instructions and meet set standards.

· Leadership qualities sufficient to be effective when serving in a leadership capacity for certain aspects of a project.

· Ability to make decisions based on verifiable standards.

· Ability to operate required equipment, such as (not necessarily all inclusive):

Ø compressors

Ø pumps

Ø hoists

Ø shovels

Ø scrapers

Ø backhoes

Ø motor graders

Ø loaders

Ø bobcats

Ø dozers

· Interpersonal skills in order to work cross-functionally with company employees and members of other Company entities.

· Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance, which is an essential function of all jobs with the Company.

· Must be able to handle stress.

· Ability to travel to a variety of locations, including other cities/states, for training and/or projects.

· Ability and willingness to work varying schedules, as assigned by management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Works in dusty or dirty surroundings

· Judges distances and slopes accurately (when applicable)

· Stoops, bends and crouches to perform duties

· Often stands and walks for long periods of time

· Uses arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects and materials

· Lifts and carries materials and/or tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

· Exposure to risks associated with construction sites, including varying weather conditions, dusty environments, heights, uneven terrain, the use/presence of heavy equipment, etc.

· Effectively communicates with employees and others in person and over the phone, normally through hearing and talking.

· Uses vision to read written instructions, blueprints, etc., to judge distances and slopes accurately, and to operate all required equipment to perform tasks.

· Travels by car, airplane, or other authorized mode of transportation for work or to attend training.

· Works varying schedules, as assigned by management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
