Cashier

Must be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive.

The Headcount/Cashier is responsible for receiving, counting, recording, and safeguarding funds received from dining patrons in a high volume, military dining facility. Also, keeps accurate headcount statistics of dining patrons and completes all required paperwork. Fulfill duties as a Dining Facility Attendant when not working as a Cashier.

Duties:

1. Providing courteous and professional service to, and communicating effectively with, dining facility patrons.

2. Acting as the cashier of the dining facility: receiving, counting the change fund, and verifying amount therein; receiving pre-numbered DD Forms 1544 (Cash Meal Payment Sheets); receiving all DA Forms 3032, Signature Headcount Sheets to be used for all categories of diners.

3. Counting and accurately recording all personnel who wish to consume a meal by using the AFMIS automated system.

4. Collecting cash in the amount of the established meal rate from each individual required to reimburse the government for meals taken; ensuring that individuals enter their signature, grade and the amount paid on the appropriate form.

5. Checking all monies collected for signs of counterfeit by following the guidelines in the headcount instruction book.

6. Ensuring that monies and reports are secure at all times.

7. Preventing unauthorized personnel from eating in the dining facility by initiating action as instructed.

8. Completing all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

9. At the end of each meal, returning cash collected and other completed forms to the Dining Facility Manager or his/her designated representative and verifying accuracy of the meal transactions.

10. Reading and following Standing Operating Procedures and company policy regarding duties of Cashiers/Headcount.

11. Maintaining equipment, including ensuring that headcount station has paper, toner, ribbon, etc.

12. Training other headcount personnel in the operation of headcount equipment and other functions.

13. Must communicate effectively with other staff members and dining facility patrons.

14. Complying with all applicable rules and regulations applicable to food services, including AR 30-22, TB MED 530, and the Company’s contract with the Government.

15. Fulfill duties as a Dining Facility Attendant when not working as a cashier.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

Reporting headcount equipment breakdown, mechanical problems, and shortages in monies to appropriate personnel. Ensuring that equipment and machines are turned off if not in use. Other functions as assigned by the Dining Facility Manager and/or as necessary to perform job.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualification for the position is:

· High school graduate or GED.

· Ability to operate appropriate cashier-related equipment, including the AFMIS automated headcount system.

· Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Possess necessary math skills to accomplish the essential functions of the job
