This per diem position performs basic radiologist tests; oversees the production of x-rays; maintains appropriate record systems; and performs clinical duties as needed to include but not limited to rooming patients, taking vitals, performing lab tests and assisting the physician in our EMO offices.
Responsibilities
- Patient preparation, executing radiology tests, overseeing x-ray production, and maintaining accurate records and appropriate log entries.
- Coordinating the reading of all x-ray films with the physician, assisting the physician with lab tests and special procedures, and preparing patients for the physician evaluation.
- Assisting the physician in the evaluation and treatment of the patient; administering medications/injections under the supervision of the physician; performing ordered procedures; EKG; venipuncture; and tray set-ups.
- Assisting in registering and discharging patients; pulling charts for results and filing necessary documentation in the patient record.
- Maintaining well stocked, neat, and clean exam rooms.
- Other duties as assigned
- Reads and abides by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs
- Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company
- Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so
- Support and abide by the values of the company
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- ARRT Certified (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- 1—3 years of experience, performing diagnostic radiography
- Prior x-ray experience, preferably in a hospital/physician’s office setting
- Current New Jersey license
- Experience with phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, patient assessment, laboratory testing and processing.
- Experience with administration of medications (oral, IM, sub-q, intradermal, IV, etc.).
- Knowledge of managed care policies and restrictions
- Ability to work as a member of a team and provide excellent customer service
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
