JOB SUMMARY

An experienced shipping / receiving professional and working supervisor who directs all functions and tasks throughout the department.

This includes processing and preparing small package / parcel shipments and LTL shipments both nationally and internationally, receiving function including sea shipments, inventory management and providing production areas with materials and components for manufacturing.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and has direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Train and assist employees on the basis of job-knowledge and productivity
• Maintain a clean well organized and professional shop atmosphere including job assignments, personnel problems, and schedules
• Responsible for the preparation of domestic and foreign shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications
• Check shipments for correct materials, packing and crating, tagging and handling instructions, loading and / or bracing
• Prepare bills of lading and other required forms
• Route local shipments and communicate with carriers
• Prepare small orders for freight, express or parcel shipments in accordance with shipping practices and requirements
• Assemble and check orders, do packing and crating
• Receive all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods, check received goods against purchase orders or receiving papers
• Check quantity and part numbers against PO to properly identify materials
• Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations
• Operate forklift and assist with loading and unloading trucks
• Maintain inventory accuracy in MAIN warehouse
• Do daily cycle counts
• Provide materials for production as requested
• Maintain knowledge of Export regulations and prepare international paperwork

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong computer skills in MS Office; shipping software, ERP / SAP experience a plus
• Knowledge of international shipping is very helpful
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills are essential
• Experience within a multi-lingual organization is preferred
• Certified forklift driver
