Highlights of the job
We are hiring a Full Time Leadhand Electrician for our Texas Water operation. This position reports to our Vista Ridge facility in Caldwell, TX.
This individual will perform journeyman-level industrial electrician work installing, calibrating, altering, maintaining, and repairing water facilities electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade. The equipment serviced includes: motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, soft starts, digital/analog instrumentation, radio transmitters/receivers, and field instrumentation.
What you’d be responsible for
- Installs, alters, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring systems and equipment, both high and low voltage, air distribution systems, pumps, transformers, and motors.
- Installs and maintains motors of several hundred horsepower, coils, transformers, and control equipment of up to 12,000 volts.
- Installs and maintains water pump and booster stations consisting of various horsepower, from functional to several hundred horsepower;
- Maintains and repairs equipment used in 24-hour operations.
- Maintain and repair all plant process equipment including pumps, blowers, scrubbers, motors, chlorinators, chemical feed and sludge equipment.
- Documents information on preventive maintenance file on electrical equipment and machinery and monitors a preventive maintenance program.
- Designs functional electric circuitry for electrical systems.
- Orders, installs and tests new equipment.
- Calibrates process control instrumentation including chlorinating and lab instruments.
- Troubleshoots and repairs complex equipment failures.
What’s required to be successful
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman license MANDATORY.
- 5-7 years of experience as a journeyman-level electrician in an industrial setting, 3 years of which includes equivalent experience as a utilities electrician or instrumentation technician in a water or wastewater environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
- Completion of a state-recognized Electrician Apprenticeship.
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
