Major Function
Weigh and mix ingredients according to recipe. Judge start-time of mix based on its production life.
Position Levels
Entry Level: Typically one year of less experience.
Job Level: Employee demonstrates competence in performance of all aspects of the position.
Senior Level: Employee is able to mentor and assist other employees. Employee demonstrates responsibility and understands how the position impacts overall production.
Specific Duties
- Select appropriate recipe from schedule.
- Scale ingredients according to recipe.
- Meter water.
- Operate the flour silo.
- Mix ingredients in mixing machine.
- Take temperature of dough with dough thermometer. Adjust dough temperature as required.
- Record temperature, lot numbers and batch time on record log.
- Record lot numbers.
- Using mixing bowl lifter, drop dough onto dough table.
- Fill hoppers (meca & boule) for production line.
- Clean mixers to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs between products. Important to ensure that no end-user suffer allergic reactions or that item maintains Kosher status.
- Assist other workers as necessary.
- Maintain Mixing area in clean state.
Needs to have at least 6mos Food Manufacturing Mixer experience.

Hours are from 2pm to 10pm or 10pm to 6am Monday to Saturday $15.50 hr base pay plus $1hr shift differential

- Read recipe
- Operate weigh scale.
- Ability to read cumulative numbers.
- Ensure no cross contamination between products.
- Understand the entire process from mixing to baking and how the mix time affects the entire production run.
- Procedure for operation of all mixers.
- Judge quality of produced dough for all recipes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
