Our client is looking for Telecomm Expense Analyst.
1 year Contract role with the Oil and Gas company.
Location- Houston Downtown- Need to go onsite.
W2 employment- No C2C/ No Sponsorship
In this position the candidate initiates and manages complex telecom billing audits, defines telecom optimization recommendations, conducts vendor contract analysis, benchmarks telecom rates, ensures quality control, and performs inventory management. The goal is to streamline processes, expose and eliminate unnecessary costs and decommission high cost legacy services.
Day to day activities would include analyzing the Telecom Billing process, understanding the Calero tools and application. Analyzing Telecommunications vendor inventory reports and working with internal and external contacts to update as required to ensure accuracy. Provide support to field and corporate departments for telecommunications, summarizing telecom billing data from internal and external sources for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Telecom inventory management for local, long distance including MPLS, SIP trunking, VSAT and wireless management. Ensure Telecom DB is accurate with legacy vendor's accounts
- Analyze telecommunications data to identify trends and/or potential critical issues and their root cause and to summarize findings.
- Identify opportunities to leverage vendor capacity and other efficiencies to reduce overall operational cost
- Oversee and manage Telcom invoices and plans on a monthly basis.
- Assist internal employee ordering and changing out cellular phones and devices.
- Analyze telecommunications data to identify trends and/or potential critical issues and their root cause and to summarize findings.
Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the various Telecom Service Provider billing terminology, concepts and practices including services, taxes, fees, and contractual terms
- Requires familiarity with telecom expense and contract management practices for carrier-based voice, data, and cellular services as well as telecom lifecycle vendor management
- Good knowledge and understanding of financial oversight and management including billing, accruals, allocations, budgeting, and forecasting
- Identify opportunities to leverage vendor capacity and other efficiencies to reduce overall operational cost
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years working in an enterprise telecom environment
- Strong dedication to quality customer service
- Strong communications skills & superior telephone etiquette
- Ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, peers and management and work in a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions as described above.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience TEM software (Calero) highly preferred
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and workload to ensure all deliverables and expectations are met or exceeded
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply financial expertise to telecom contracts and invoices

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional travel required, including overnight travel.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
