Behavioral Health Specialist
Agency seeks motivated mentors as Behavioral Health specialists who will work with children between the ages of 5-21 and are diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances. The Behavioral Health Specialist (B.H.S.) is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and works closely with caregivers to assist them in the management of child behavior within a group setting and applies a working knowledge of public health practices and concepts of child behavior.

As a member of the behavioral health team, the behavioral health specialist will have tasks and responsibilities that contribute to the overall agency efforts and are not always specific to behavioral health. This may include program planning, administrative work, attending events scheduled by the agency, marketing the program, and networking with various community providers or agencies.

The work is performed under general supervision. The agency defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines and assists B.H.S. with unusual situations, which do not have clear objectives or precedents. B.H.S. plans and carries out assignments and handles problems and deviations in accordance with experienced judgment, instructions, policies, procedures, and/or accepted practices. Work is evaluated for competency of professional judgment and achievement of goals and objectives.

Summary

Eprine Community Services, Inc. is committed to helping children, families, and adults. Home and Community-Based Services Waiver is a program designed to support children living in foster care and offers assistance to their foster, birth, and adoptive families. The services offered through the Behavioral Health program will improve the safety, health, and well-being of a child in foster care, prevent hospitalizations, and institutionalization. While the shelter in place is in force, services are offered face to face with appropriate P.P.E. and telephonically.

Behavioral Health Specialists are essential community-based workers who provide a break for the children and families and offer therapeutic services.

The staff will:

· Work 1 to 1 with the child

· Work on individualized goals with the child which include but are not limited to (social skills, coping techniques, impulse control, relationship building, self-esteem and more)

· Engage the child in recreational activities in the community

· Submit Documentation via Electronic Health Record System (E.H.R)

· Oversee the delivery of one-to-one services designed to strengthen participants' and families' abilities to function successfully in the school, and community settings, focusing on behaviors and intervention methods expected to support the participant. Services may be provided to individuals and in small group settings.

· Assure staff develop a robust psycho-educational component to their advocacy and crisis prevention work with participants, families/caregivers, and collateral, and have access to valuable resource materials.

· Must be able to attend mandated training

· Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and/or after school hours

· Must be available to interview "remote interview" by video conference.

· Must have access to a computer or smart tablet

Weekends Required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
